plain language commands that execute

type "harmonise to C9" or "clear this measure" into the command box above the score, and notei executes the edit directly.

it edits the selection you give it. it won't restructure anything you haven't asked it to touch.

yes, and it explains it against your own music rather than a textbook example. notei can name the key you're in and say what gave it away, explain why a voicing sounds thin, or walk through a chord progression it just suggested. it's closer to a tutor looking over your shoulder than a reference book.

it can draft and continue ideas, but it's built to help you write, not replace you. you accept, tweak, or throw out every suggestion — nothing lands on your score without you.

it won't restructure anything you didn't ask it to touch. notei edits the selection you give it and leaves the rest of the score alone, so it can't quietly rewrite bars you were happy with. it also never commits a change on its own, every suggestion waits for you to accept it.

notei trains its own music models in one limited way, and you control it. when you use the public compose and arrange tools, notei logs the request, meaning the seed you gave it, your prompt, the settings, the notes it generated, and whether you kept the result, to make its models better; this is on by default and you can switch it off in settings. the outside model providers notei sends requests to don't train on your content under their terms, and notei never uses education-edition work at app.notei.co/edu for training.
